Representatives of one of C̳h̳i̳n̳a̳’s firms building the rocket announced plans to deliver people to the Red Planet. The Chinese want to get to Mars, if not the very first, then clearly among the first, so as not to miss the initiative and get all the privileges of the pioneers.
A manned mission to Mars is certainly an ambitious goal, but quite feasible, given that the space industry is well funded and has shown remarkable success in recent years.
It is worth noting that C̳h̳i̳n̳a̳’s statement regarding plans to conquer Mars is not just a word, but a completely meaningful plan. It will be carried out sequentially in three stages.
On the first of them robots will go to Mars. They will deliver soil and atmosphere samples to Earth and select the optimal landing site.
The second stage will be marked by sending a small group of colonists to Mars. They will have the task of preparing everything necessary for the arrival of new groups of people from Earth.
And finally, at the third stage, a whole flotilla of spaceships with colonists will move to Mars.
The first flight to the Red Planet is scheduled for 2033. It will be preceded by a long and arduous preparation work. The schedule of subsequent flights to Mars has also been announced and will be carried out with an interval of 2 – 3 years.
By all appearances, C̳h̳i̳n̳a̳’s plans to master Mars should be taken quite seriously. At the same time, do not forget that there are other strong players in this game who are now closer to the final goal than C̳h̳i̳n̳a̳.
Be that as it may, the world is embraced by a new space race and it is not yet clear who will be the winner in this game.
