Harvard astronomer Avi Loeb believes that an A̳n̳c̳i̳e̳n̳t̳ a̳l̳i̳e̳n̳ civilization could have sent automatic probes to Earth, and new observations of unexplained air phenomena (U̳F̳O̳\\UAP) may be a sign that that a̳l̳i̳e̳n̳s are already watching us.
In particular, he believes that the interstellar object “Oumuamua” could be a spacecraft sent in order to receive signals and read the collected information from previously sent probes, writes Loeb in his article in Scientific American.
This is a logical explanation linking two separate themes – Oumuamua’s trajectory and recent U̳F̳O̳ sightings. And even if this idea seems too unusual to you, Loeb believes that more researchers should start observing the sky in order to get to the bottom of the truth for themselves.

Loeb concluded that the upcoming U̳F̳O̳ intelligence report would have had no chance of reaching the public if the bizarre sightings were Earthly security threats, such as drones from Russia or C̳h̳i̳n̳a̳. Therefore, U̳F̳O̳s are most likely devices of an e̳x̳t̳r̳a̳t̳e̳r̳r̳e̳s̳t̳r̳i̳a̳l̳ civilization.
What if, Loeb speculates, U̳F̳O̳s have some kind of connection to Oumuamua, an interstellar object that entered our solar system in 2017 and that may have been sent by a̳l̳i̳e̳n̳s?
As possible evidence, Loeb points out that Oumuamua rotates as it travels through space, raising the likelihood that its wider flat surfaces contain equipment capable of picking up signals from past robotic probes that were tasked with locating habitable planets.

“But instead of just guessing about possible scenarios, we need to gather better scientific data and clarify the nature of U̳F̳O̳s,” Loeb writes. This can be done by installing cameras on wide-angle telescopes that observe the sky.”
“By looking for unusual phenomena in the same geographic locations where U̳F̳O̳ reports come from, scientists could clarify this mystery through transparent open data analysis. ”
If Loeb’s theory is correct, then the a̳l̳i̳e̳n̳ civilization, which sent automatic probes in the past to search for habitable planets, after the appearance of Oumuamua in our solar system, received information about our civilization collected by probes back in 2017.
One question remains – what will the a̳l̳i̳e̳n̳s do after receiving the data collected by the probes?
